I'm Nicolás Lampe-Huenul, a Software Engineer (technically, my diploma says “Computer and Informatics Engineer,” but I’m still searching for the best English equivalent). I have a growing range of experience in areas such as:

I’m passionate about learning and enjoy sharing knowledge. This is reflected in the many projects I've had the pleasure of contributing to (check my resume above). Currently, I'm pursuing a Master’s in Bioinformatics and considering a PhD in either Bioinformatics or Artificial Intelligence.

  • TI-Impulsa

    Software Engineer | August 2024 – December 2024

    Developed a web application for managing an e-commerce platform using React, .NET, and RavenDB. Implemented key features like user authentication, product management, and order processing. Collaborated with a team of five developers using Agile methodologies. Participated in code reviews and project documentation.

    Software Engineer | August 2023 – December 2023

    Created a web application for internal resource management using React, Laravel, and MongoDB. Implemented authentication, scheduling, and reporting features while working in an Agile team of four.

  • Universidad de Tarapacá

    Data Scientist | September 2023 – Present

    Analyzed climate data from the Altiplano region using ERA5, CHIRPS, WRF, and other sources to study regional climate variability. Performed statistical and geospatial analysis using Python tools like Pandas, NumPy, Xarray, Matplotlib, and Seaborn in Jupyter Notebooks. Contributed to peer-reviewed scientific publications.

  • Centro de Genética y Genómica UASARA

    Bioinformatics Researcher | January 2024 – Present

    Analyzed genomic data from public repositories (NCBI, Ensembl, UCSC) with a focus on endangered local species. Also contributed to developing a web platform for exam scheduling and patient management.
